Highland Park was established in 1798, shortly after the end of the American War of Independence and at a time when the French Revolution was at its height. When Napoleon was cutting a swathe through Europe, whisky had already been distilled at Highland Park for 12 years. Similarly, Highland Park 40 year old was
distilled at a time of great change during the social and cultural revolution of the late 1960s.
