Bols Around the World - Bols Bartending World Championship 2012

WHAT

  • Bols Around the World is a prestigious bartending competition founded by Lucas Bols in 2006.
  • Bartenders from 48 countries will be competing in online heats to win a coveted place at the Global Final in Amsterdam.
  • Only 12 finalists will be selected to go head to head judged by the most admired names in the industry: Jared Brown and Anastatia Miller, Hidetsugu Ueno, Jeff Berry and Helmut Adam.
  • Bartenders will be tested on creativity, technique, skills, presentation, ingenuity, product knowledge and personality.

WHY

A global programme that elevates the art of bartending and provide a podium for professionals to uplift their careers.

WHEN

  • 1 January 2012: Competition goes live – Open for upload of cocktail recipes
  • 1 March 2012: Competition closes
  • 14 May 2012: Grand finale (awards ceremony) in Amsterdam

HOW

  1. Bartenders must upload their cocktail recipe to www.bols.com.
  2. The cocktail must be made with any of our Bols Liqueurs and/or Bols Genever.
  3. Answer the question: How do you add flavour to the world?

The bartenders with the best and most creative recipes will be judged on the standard cocktail judging criteria plus bartending skills, personality, creativity and inspiration.

48 country winners will be selected of which only regional finalists will make it to the Grand Final in Amsterdam on the 14 May, 2012.

THE PRIZES

  • The 48 Country Winners: National Champion trophy

    • All country winners will be presented in our global website and will receive a Bols Around the World National Champion trophy.

  • The 11 regional Finalists: 1-year Gold Bols Ambassadorships*

    • Which include 1 additional all-expenses paid trip to Amsterdam for intensive Bols Ambassador training.

  • The 2012 BOLS Champion

    • A fantastic eight-day global bar tour – visiting the best cocktail bars in his/her choice of four of the major cocktail capitals in the world: Tokyo, NYC, London, Sydney, Buenos Aires, Cape Town and Los Angeles.

    And 1-yr Bols Platinum Ambassadorship* – which includes two all-expenses paid trips during the year to Amsterdam for intensive training and a visit to a world-renowned bar show.
